Skin is in.

Now that I have the The Digital Blast site up I can finally try to get back on track with telling you guys about all sorts of new techie goodness. If you haven't read from earlier posts, I have been assimilated into the PSP cult. I'm thinking about having either a post or even an episode of my show dedicated to the PSP but I just don't have the time right now. However, like any good short attention span having tech head I'm now bored with the look of my PSP and want to spice it up a little. Does it need to be done? Now the PSP is very pleasant to look at, almost pretty one might say. Do I want to make a change? Absolutely! Now that I see PSPs all over the place I want mine to stand out. So I found this cool site, GamerGraffix, that not only has skins for your PSP but also for PS2 (fat or slim), XBOX, Gamecube, GBS and DS. There some great skins here to include pink fur for the ladies! The skins are affordable, durable, help protect your gaming platform of choice and are easily removable (leaving no residue). Come on, it's a no brainer. I'm all about the Ghost Skulls.

Cool website! Oh yeah, the movie will be good too!

Are you a movie buff? Sci Fi buff? F/X buff? Then I have the site for you.

Peter Jackson (not the heavy troll look alike from Lord of the Rings fame but the new improved and svelte 70 lbs thinner director of the upcoming King Kong movie) has a new website you just have to see. It is normally very difficult to get any news about a movie while it's being filmed or finalized for release. You might get a "leaked" photo or two and a couple of rumors but that's it. Well Mr. Jackson thought he'd turn that idea on its ear. He has created KongisKing.net which truly takes you behind the scenes of the movie. There are candid interviews with actors during filming, in depth look at F/X, hosted online chats about the movie, video of post production, a store, get an insiders view of his development of the game, you can even sign up for your very own KingKong Visa card! One of the things that I thought was most cool is you can actually watch Jackson editing the film.Jackson approached the film company about setting up a site and they said that they "didn't want to expose so much of the film before release". So Jackson told them to "bugger off" and set up his own site! Before I wasn't looking forward to the film other than seeing what Jackson's vision would end up looking like. For those of you who don't know, King Kong was the movie that made Jackson fell he should be a director and its been his dream to redo it. Now I've been on this site everyday and there is always new content. All directors should make their films this accessible. I can tell you I'll be the first in line to see the film now.

Check it out.

Unless you've been living under a rock...

Unless you've been living under a rock you've heard about the new iPods.
Now if you listened to my podcast you heard my say that Apple was going to unveil some new hardware at the 12 October media event. One of which was not going to be a video enabled iPod. Man did I and everybody else got that wrong. Apple unveiled two new iPods that are not only able to play video but are also bigger for the $299 and $399 price point. Where the $299 would've got you a 20 GB iPod and $399 would've got you 40GB of dreamy space for your music collection. That will now get you 30 GB and 60 GB respectively now. Throw on that your new iPod will be color, display pictures and play video and you must be as titillated as me!To seal the deal you will be able to buy shows like “Lost” and “Desperate Housewives” the day after they air for a paltry $1.99. Apple is trying to firm up it relationship with Disney to get other programs and movies to sell. Damn you Steve Jobs! Just when I think I hate you, you swoop in to make me love you again! Now it begs the question of what to do? As you may know I am the newest convert to the PSP cult. And yes I have been ripping DVD’s to my 1GB sticks to watch video on my PSP. But…I’m limited to just 1 GB or now 2GB sticks. Can that compete with the option of having my music and video collection (or at least some shows) on my iPod? To be honest, no. I will say that only having 1 or 2 GB sticks has made me update the music and video I carry with me often, at least once a week. And to see video on that nice big pretty 16:9 PSP screen is downright yummy! Not to mention I can also play some rocking games. The PSP has become my MULTIMEDIA center. Don’t get me wrong, I won’t be listening to my PSP or watching video in the gym but I sure will when I’m just sitting around on an airplane. What do you think? Are you gonna run out and buy a new iPod?
