Its coming, its coming, and it has BluRay.

For all my fellow gamers out there, the PS3 will soon be here. Word on the net has leaked out that Sony will launch it's uber-machine here in the U.S. around the 21st of September.

That date of launch is up for debate but there's alot of solid evidence about the Xbox live-like Playstation Hub. The Hub will give PS3 owners chat, downloadable demos, online play, and its supposed to support the PSP, too.
To top off the gaming goodness you get with the PS3 you will also get a BluRay, the "other" high definition DVD technology, and the PS3 will support games in resolutions of up to 1080p. This capability gives the PS3 a huge leap over the Xbox 360 because in order to play the HD DVD (which is the high-defintion disc format that Microsoft chose to support, think VHS vs. Beta) Microsoft will release an external HD DVD drive for the Xbox 360 later this year (great one MORE thing in my entertainment center!) . Oh yeah, that Blu-ray player is also a state-of-the-art game console too. The PS3 will output 1080p-format HDTV signals. So Sony gets out a great gaming console, a Blu-ray DVD player, Xbox live-like capability for around $500 (a stand alone HD DVD player will set you back about $1,000) before Christmas.......I'm in.
