On hiatus.

Due to traumatic family events, the Digital Blast and I will be on hiatus for the foreseeable future.

I have certainly been focused on and have always enjoyed tech and gadgets but latest events have shown me that human interactions and relationships are most important.

Put down the phone, laptop and gaming controller and hug a loved one.

Now you can get jumped off anywhere.

Too often the one thing that goes wrong with all our automobiles is that we leave the lights on and kill the battery. Not to mention it normally happens at the worst time like in the middle of a snowstorm or when you have to be somewhere 10 minutes ago. Or my personal favorite, the wife or girlfriend left the lights on when they got to work and now you need to go help because of course when you are in need of a jump there's never anyone around to give you a helping hand. Well, worry no longer because with the Porta-Jump (yeah I would've liked a more inventive name too) you never have to worry about a dead battery again.
This little hand held rocket-pack can be kept in your glove box or its even small enough to go in your purse ladies (I mean you have everything else in there so why not this?). You take the included cable, connect one end to the Porta-Jump and the other to your cigarette lighter, wait for the green light and turn the key. It gets better though because most of the portable car starters are only one use and then you throw them away. Not this one my friends! After you jump your car off, or save that damsel in distress just plug this back into your cigarette lighter and its recharged in about 30 minutes. Making it ready to save you or someone else's hide in a jiffy. All that and its only $30!! This thing made so much sense and is so cheap that I bought one for both my vehicles and for each member of my family too. Hey that money is better spent on this than a stupid sweater! You can get over the Porta-Jump website to get your own.

A one on one with the Jaffe-meister.

Love him or hate him, David Jaffe has become one of "the" guys in the video game industry and a lightening rod of controversy. He's been the man behind some of the great games out there to include the Twisted Metal series and of course our favorite butt kicking Spartan Kratos and the God of War series before leaving Sony and starting his own gaming company. He's always been known to share his thoughts with any/everybody about any/everything.

I've met him (I'll have to post pictures of the Kratos statue he sent me), exchanged e-mails and blog posts with him and I can tell you first hand that David is one of those real guys in the biz out there. He's passionate, wants to do the right thing by his fans and has a total no BS kind of attitude.

He recently did an interview for Gamespot while at D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) in Vegas back in February and I think this clip provides a view of how great this dude is. Enjoy.

Update: Sorry to say that the HTML code provided by Gamespot is broke. So much for being able to click on the video here in my blog. In order to see the interview, you'll have to click here.
